Jackie Stoddard is a Behavioral Scientist and Program Director for the Tobacco Control Research Branch at the National Cancer Institute's Division of Cancer Control & Populations Sciences, Behavioral Research Program. As part of her research responsibilities, Dr. Stoddard developed and now evaluates Smokefree.gov, a Web assisted tobacco intervention tool for adults motivated to quit smoking. As Program Director, Dr. Stoddard coordinates research activities, provides scientific recommendations, and serves as a NCI spokesperson. She also manages a portfolio of grants related to cessation of tobacco use among Internet users, women, and individuals with depression. Since joining NCI in 2002, Dr. Stoddard has received multiple awards of excellence for her contributions on Internet based tools for behavior change.

Prior to NCI, Dr. Stoddard was a Postdoctoral fellow at the University of California at San Francisco, Department of Psychiatry. At UCSF, Dr. Stoddard studied addiction medicine and developed one of the first Web based randomized trials for smoking cessation and depression prevention.

Dr. Stoddard has a Masters degree in Experimental Psychology a doctoral degree in Preventive Medicine, Health Behavior Research from the University of Southern California Medical School. Her publications have focused on targeted tobacco marketing, smokeless tobacco cessation, youth tobacco prevention, and smoking cessation via the Internet.
