NIH HD Advisory Group (HDAG)
3rd Wednesday of every month, 1:00pm-2:30pm, Fernwood 3D12
Help Desk issues but also several CIT issues in general are discussed here. Reports from Remedy and Best Practices subcommittee meetings are given here but it is still best to attend those meetings as well to actively participate.
Purpose: To provide guidance and input to the management of the consolidated NIH Help Desk and to provide a venue for discussion of changes in the policies and operating procedures of the NIH Help Desk.
The advisory group reviews and provides guidance on a wide range of NIH Help Desk operational topics, including: service levels, ticket processing, supported services, marketing, and quality assurance. In addition, the advisory group will serve as a best practices forum for IT support at NIH. The main focus is to:
- Promote collaboration across the NIH IT support communities
- Update the IT community on NIH Help Desk activities
- Advise and comment on NIH Help Desk process and procedure
- Facilitate discussion, debate, and dialogue regarding IT support delivery at the NIH
- Find common ground from which to standardize NIH Help Desk service delivery to its customers
- Provide a consolidated group of IT partners across the NIH for which to share news and information relevant to NIH IT support
- The HD Branch Chief runs this meeting.
NIH Desktop Best Practices
- 3rd Wednesday every other month, 11:30pm-12:30pm, Fernwood 3E02
- ICs share technical desktop practices in a ‘non-political’ forum.
- Focus is on technical information.
- The CIT Desktop Section Chief runs this meeting.
Remedy Sub Committee
- 3rd Wednesday of every month, 10:00am-11:30pm, Fernwood 3D12
- Discuss Remedy changes.
- Ask for feedback.
- STG runs this meeting.
EA Topic Series (EATS)
EMI Brown Bag
- First Wednesday of every month 12pm-1pm, 12B conference room
- List: <IC> IT Infrastructure Contacts.
- A monthly meeting to discuss Enterprise Messaging and Infrastructure projects and issues. DCSS runs this meeting.
NIH HD IC POCs
- This is a DL Remedy release notes come out through this.
- Any IC specific Remedy changes RM will send to IC POCs.
NIH Apple Sys Admin
- This is a DL not a meeting.
- Purpose: Informally exist to allow for the sharing of information between Macintosh administrators at the NIH, many of whom have similar problems but different solutions. They try to highlight different solutions to the various problems and attempt to include Apple and other solution providers and/or vendors in as many meetings as possible.
- No set schedule but they try to meet monthly.
- Scot Ryder is the POC for this Meeting
ISSO Group
- Is composed of ISSOs and functions as a standing working group under the ITMC Security and Privacy Subcommittee (ITMC-SPS).
- Meet every third Friday of the month from 1:30-2:30 in Fernwood 3E02
- Discussions led by Dan Sands and other members of the CIT/ODCIO team.
