Biosketch:
Mark Phillippe, M.D., is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Vermont College of Medicine. Prior to Chairman, Dr. Phillippe was a termed Professor and Vice-Chair for Research at the University of Chicago. He is a very well-established and recognized investigator in the areas of parturition and uterine contractility. Dr. Phillippe has an outstanding record of publications and a highly successful career with investigator initiated NIH funding since 1987. He has served on many NIH committees and study sections and his background brings a wealth of clinical, research and academic expertise to the National Advisory Child Health and Human Development (NACHHD) Council. His term on the Council expires 11/30/2009. His areas of expertise include obstetrics and gynecology, reproductive endocrinology, molecular/receptor pharmacology, and reproductive physiology.
