Biosketch: 
George P. Giacoia, MD, is Project Director of the Pediatric Pharmacology Research Units Network at the NICHD. His research interest has been in the area of neonatal and pediatric pharmacology. He is a Fellow the American Academy of Pediatrics and has served as the NIH Liaison to the AAP Committee on Drugs since July 1999. Dr. Giacoia completed a residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in Neonatology at the Johns Hopkins' residency program. He received additional training in Pediatric Pharmacology at Buffalo Children's Hospital. Dr. Giacoia is board certified in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine. He is the author of approximately 160 articles, book chapters, and abstracts. He has been a reviewer for several journals, including Pediatrics, Journal of Pediatrics, Developmental Pharmacology, Clinical Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the American Journal of Obstetric and Gynecology. Previous academic appointments included Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Georgetown University, Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Oklahoma, and Director of Neonatology at the Buffalo Children's Hospital.
