Congressman Jesse L. Jackson, Jr., released the following statement following today's resignation of Attorney General Alberto Gonzales:

"Good Riddance. With the departure of Attorney General Alberto Gonzales we now have the opportunity to bring genuine justice, credibility and integrity back to the Justice Department. Instead of being a shining example of the contributions that people of color can and will continue to play in governing our nation, Mr. Gonzales's tenure was a stinging example of unenlightened, partisan politics run amok."
