Stem Cells and Aging

The first annual grantee meeting of NIA's Request for Application (RFA) “Biology of Adult Stem Cells in Aging” convened investigators funded through the RFA, other NIA grantees, and experts external to NIA. The meeting was a combined project of NIA's Stem Cell Working Group. The meeting's goals were to:

  • Promote information exchange in this fast-moving area of research
  • Stimulate discussion of exciting research directions
  • Update staff on current research issues to be considered for future initiatives in stem cell research
