NIAMS Supported Scientific Areas (Extramural Program)

The NIAMS funds research at institutions throughout the U.S. and around the world. We accept investigator-initiated applications, as well as accept applications for research grants and contracts in response to a published funding opportunity announcement-Request for Applications (RFA), Request for Proposals (RFP) or Program Announcements (PA). Grants and contracts are supported through two scientific divisions: Skin and Rheumatic Diseases, and Musculoskeletal Diseases.
Division of Skin and Rheumatic Diseases
Research areas supported through the Division of Skin and Rheumatic Diseases include:

- Keratinocyte Biology and Disease

Division of Musculoskeletal Diseases
Research areas supported through the Division of Musculoskeletal Diseases include:
