Applying and Submitting Electronically on Time

Checkbox: Have you found out if your institution wants you to apply through Grants.gov or use an alternative?

Checkbox: Do you know that your authorized organizational representative will submit your application to Grants.gov?

Checkbox: Do you know how deadlines work?

Checkbox: Are you planning to submit at least two days before the deadline so you have time to get through validations?

Rules for Late Applications

Checkbox: Do you know in what instances NIH allows late applications?

Checkbox: If submitting late, have you included a cover letter describing the reason for the delay?

Checkbox: Are you aware that neither the Center for Scientific Review nor NIAID guarantees it will accept a late application and both use a limited window?

Checkbox: Do you know how late application practices differ depending on who conducts the initial peer review?
