MCH Alert is a free weekly electronic newsletter that provides timely reference to research, findings, policy developments, recently released publications, new programs, and initiatives affecting the maternal and child health (MCH) community.

Recognizing that high-quality maternal and child health (MCH) services are vital to the health of the nation, the NCEMCH was established in 1982 at Georgetown University as a national resource to the MCH community. The Center's multidisciplinary staff collaborates with a broad range of federal agencies, corporate and philanthropic partners, professional organizations, and academic institutions.

KNOWLEDGE PATHS

Spanish-Language Health Resources
This electronic resource guide points to Spanish-language health resources for health professionals and consumers. The resources cover a wide range of health topics, including many of interest to the maternal and child health (MCH) community.

Depression During and After Pregnancy
This electronic guide presents resources about the prevalence and incidence of perinatal depression; identification and treatment; impact on the health and well-being of a new mother and her infant; and implications for service delivery. Separate sections present resources for professionals (health professionals, policymakers, program administrators, and researchers) and for women experiencing perinatal depression and their families.

Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Health
This electronic guide presents resources about preventing, identifying, and eliminating racial and ethnic disparities in health. Separate sections present resources for professionals (health professionals, program administrators, policymakers, researchers) and consumers. A special topics area lists resources about cultural and linguistic competence to remove barriers to care and narrow health disparities.

NON-ENGLISH MATERIALS AND RESOURCES

This languages index identifies resources written in many non-English languages, from Albanian to Yoruba. Select a language to see a list of publications and organization resources. Readers are invited to submit new resources to add to this index.


MCHB FINAL REPORTS

The MCH Library receives electronic copies of MCHB Projects final reports. They are cataloged into MCHLine® and posted on the Final Reports page.


MCH THESAURAS

The MCH Thesaurus provides the MCH professional community with a standard vocabulary that serves as a tool for indexing and retrieving materials in any MCH research center, library, or special collection. The thesaurus Web site provides an introduction; an alphabetical list of terms; a rotated list of terms; a set of subject categories; and a search function to search MCHLine® for specific terms.  A pdf version of the full thesaurus is also available.

MCHB Award
The National Center for Education in Maternal and Child Health (NCEMCH) at Georgetown University has been awarded a 5-year cooperative agreement from the Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB) to continue its MCH Library services. Read more.
