The NIDCD Stem Cell Information web site uses Google search technology.

• By default, Google returns pages that include all of your search terms. There is no need to include and between terms. Google ignores common words and characters such as I, where, and how.
• Choose keywords wisely. To focus results, select several descriptive, specific words. For example, type president's policy on stem cell funding rather than funding.
• To find an exact phrase (including common words), enclose your search query in quotation marks. For example, type "bone marrow" rather than bone marrow.
• Use a minus sign (-) in front of words you want to avoid. (Make sure there is a space before it!) To avoid pages referencing stromal cells, for example, type -stromal.
• Use OR (in capital letters) to broaden results if your subject has multiple names. For example, type adult OR nonembryonic.
