H.R. 5647—The FY2007 Labor, HHS, Education Appropriations Bill

On July 18, 2006, the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, HHS, Education (Senator Arlen Specter [R-PA], Chairman) marked up and reported favorably H.R. 5647, the FY2007 Labor, HHS, Education Appropriations bill. The bill includes $28.5 billion for NIH, an increase of approximately $200 million over the President's request and the House reported level, excluding the Global HIV/AIDS Fund Transfer. The bill is scheduled for full Senate Committee on Appropriations mark up on July 20.
