S. 314—Foundation for the National Institutes of Health Improvement Act

On July 17, 2003, the Senate passed by Unanimous Consent, S. 314 (S. 108-45), the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health Improvement Act. In addition to several technical changes to the statutory authority (Section 499 of the Public Health Service Act (http://www.fda.gov/opacom/laws/phsvcact/phsvcact.htm ) for the Foundation, the bill would require NIH to transfer $500,000 to the Foundation from annual appropriations. S. 314 was introduced by Senator Edward Kennedy (D-MA) on February 5.
