S.1172—Improved Nutrition and Physical Activity Act (IMPACT)

On December 9, 2003, the Senate passed with an amendment by Unanimous Consent S. 1172, the Improved Nutrition and Physical Activity Act (IMPACT). This bill would establish grants to provide health services for improved nutrition, increased physical activity, obesity prevention, and for other purposes. S. 1172 was introduced by Senator Bill Frist (R-TN) on June 3 and marked up by the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions on October 29.
