DENVER, Co. -- The Mobile Disaster Recovery Center in Gilcrest will cease operations on Saturday, June 7. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Colorado Division of Emergency Management (CDEM) have coordinated services at the center, located in the high school parking lot at 1001 Birch, since Saturday, May 31.
The center, which will remain open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. until Saturday evening, provides opportunities for residents and businesses affected by disaster to meet face-to-face with representatives from federal agencies and find answers to questions about the recovery process.
Individuals in Larimer and Weld counties can still register for assistance by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or TTY-1-800-462-7585 for those who have hearing or speech impairments. FEMA operators are available 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week, until further notice. Registration can also be completed online at www.fema.gov.
The Windsor Disaster Recovery Center will remain in operation in Colorado from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily until further notice. It is located at 1100 W. Main in the Windsor High School gymnasium.
Representatives of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) are at the center to meet individually with residents and business owners to answer questions about the SBA disaster loan program, help them complete their disaster loan applications and accept their completed applications. Anyone not able to visit a center may call 1-800-659-2955 or visit the SBA web site at www.sba.gov/services/disasterassistance.
FEMA coordinates the Federal government's role in preparing for, preventing, mitigating the effects of, responding to, and recovering from all domestic disasters, whether natural or man-made, including acts of terrorism.
