Combined Health Information Database
Joins WIN in Cyberspace
The Weight-control Information Network's (WIN) database
on weight control, obesity, and weight-related nutritional disorders is
now available through the Combined Health Information Database (CHID)
on the World Wide Web.
CHID, a computerized bibliographic database developed by
health-related agencies of the Federal Government, contains references
to health information and health education resources on 16 topics. To
access CHID,visit http://chid.nih.gov
or WIN's Web site.
By visiting WIN online and choosing "Literature Searches
from the Combined Health Information Database," users can conduct simple
and detailed searches. Users can also read, print, and download completed
CHID literature searches on several topics, including:
The database provides titles, abstracts, health education
resources, and program descriptions not indexed elsewhere. New records
are added quarterly, and current listings are checked regularly to ensure
entries are up-to-date and still available from their original sources.
WIN staff can also perform specialized database searches
