Dear Colleagues,
NIDCR is developing a new strategic plan to guide the Institute’s research efforts over the next 5 years (2009-2013). This undertaking is important to us for several reasons. First, it provides an opportunity to review our research portfolio and programs to be certain they will remain relevant and productive over the next five years. Second, it allows us to take stock of broad scientific trends and identify opportunities for new research and collaboration that will advance the NIDCR mission and the field of oral, dental, and craniofacial research.
Most importantly, the strategic planning process gives us a unique opportunity to gather input from our colleagues and stakeholders--including researchers, academics, dental organizations, industry groups, patients, clinicians, and others. To this end, we invite you to give us your candid opinions and ideas about future directions for the Institute.
