Purpose
The ORWH held an informal Women's Health Research Roundtable on November 17,
2004, preceding the Advisory Committee on Research on Women's Health meeting, to encourage discussion concerning major
paths of emphasis that the ORWH should pursue in the coming five years from
a variety of perspectives of the women's health research and advocacy
community.
Summary
Participants acknowledged and praised the commitment and
strategic approaches of ORWH during the past 13 years, disease-specific
areas in which research on women's health has advanced, the contribution
this research is making to evidence-based medical practice, and programs
that have stimulated recruitment and retention of women in biomedical
careers.
