Visiting Democracy Plaza

A commercially operated visitor parking lot is located directly east of the building.

To reach visitor parking after entering from Democracy Boulevard, turn right and follow the signs directing you to make three more left turns into the lot.

From Fernwood Road, drive forward and turn left immediately in front of the building.

Public Transit and Shuttle Service

Visitors also may use the NIH Shuttle (Rockledge Route) to travel to Democracy Plaza from the Medical Center Metrorail Station.

Visiting the NIH Main Campus

If you drive to NIH, allow some extra time to get through security checkpoints at the visitor entrances. Be aware that visitor parking lots on the NIH campus can fill up quickly. Consider taking public transportation as an alternative.
