To the Student: This form should be given to two of
your teachers to whom you are assigned during this school year. Science
Interns should use science and/or mathematics teachers. Interns in support of science/research should use mathematics and/or business teachers. |

To the Teacher: The student forwarding this recommendation
form is applying to the National Cancer Institute’s Werner H. Kirsten
Student Intern Program (SIP) at Frederick. The SIP is designed to expose
high school seniors to research in a health care environment. The science
interns will experience the basic methods of cancer research through “hands
on” laboratory training. Students will be expected to perform their
assigned duties for at least three hours per day throughout the school year. Interns in support of science/research may serve their internships in areas including but not limited to Library Science, Scientific Publications, Graphics & Media, Web Development, Data Analysis, and Computer Troubleshooting. |
