S. 2533The Ronald Reagan Alzheimer’s Breakthrough Act of 2004
On June 16, 2004, Senator Barbara Mikulski (D-MD), and Senator Kit Bond (R-MO), introduced
S. 2533, the Ronald Reagan Alzheimer’s Breakthrough Act of 2004. The bill would double
the funding for Alzheimer’s Disease research at the NIH, and double the funding for the
National Caregiver Support Program, and the Alzheimer’s Demonstration Grant Program.
The measure also calls on the CDC to create an education program, called “News You
Can Use,” to spread the word about advances in research.
