Meeting on Arthritis, Musculoskeletal, and Skin Diseases Research When: February 8, 2005, 8:30 Where: NIH Campus, Bethesda, MD Institute: National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS) NIAMS' mission is to support research into the causes, treatment, and prevention of arthritis and musculoskeletal and skin diseases, the training of basic and clinical scientists to carry out this research, and the dissemination of information on research progress in these diseases.
As part of its efforts to fulfill this mission, the Institute has a congressionally mandated Advisory Council, or peer review group, that meets three times a year. It provides advice to NIAMS on broad policy issues and makes recommendations on research proposals. This Council includes scientific and lay members with expertise in the mission areas of the Institute. The morning sessions of the Advisory Council meetings are open to the public.
