 Outstanding, established clinical investigator with a track record of mentoring, usually at the Associate Professor level, although in certain circumstances full Professors may be eligible. Consultation with program staff is required. Minimum 25% effort, maximum 50% effort. 5 years,
renewable once

Mentored Quantitative Research Career Development Award

K30
Program
The NIDDK contributes to the support of the K30 program, which provides funds to institutions to establish curricula for formal training in clinical research. K23 awardees, in particular, are encouraged to take advantage of the coursework developed by the K30 recipient institutions.
K99/R00 Pathway to Independence Award Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent research degree with no more than 5 years of postgraduate research training who needs only 2 more years of mentored support before securing a faculty position at a U.S. institution. NO citizenship requirement. 2 years for the mentored K99; up to 3 years for the independent R00 phase.

ONLY for the K99 phase.

up to $75,000 for the K99; at the institutional level, up to the NIH maximum, for the R00

K99 = up to $25,000 per year; R00 = as requested up to the $249,000 total cost per year cap of the award.

* urologic surgeons may request less than a 75% commitment
