Biosketch

Dr. Jones completed her undergraduate studies at Georgetown University, graduating magna cum laude in 1979.  She earned her Doctorate in Medicine from Duke University in 1985.  After serving an Internship in Medicine at the Boston University Affiliated Hospitals 1985-86, she completed a Residency in Diagnostic Radiology in 1986-90 and an Abdominal Imaging fellowship at Emory University in 1991. She has been Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology since 1990.  In 2000, Dr. Jones completed her M.P.H. at Johns Hopkins University and is enrolled in the Executive M.B.A. program at the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business. 

Dr. Jones has been a Staff Radiologist in the Clinical Center Diagnostic Radiology Department since1992.  She became Deputy Director of the ISP in 2004 and Acting Chief of DRD in 2006 managing Clinical Operations.

She maintains a full clinical schedule in the body imaging service including musculoskeletal imaging.

Dr. Jones’ main clinical research activities are in HIV related diseases/AIDS and oncology.  She has become interested in the emerging problem of nephrogenic systemic fibrosis in renal failure patients and its apparent association with MRI contrast materials.  Dr. Jones’ management interests focus on improvement of clinical and professional productivity in the Diagnostic Radiology Department.
