System-to-System

bullet   NIH Web Services

Validation Response Message
This service allows a System-to-System Trading Partner to retrieve a list of NIH validation (errors and/or warnings) messages resulting from the processing of an electronic grant application. It will not contain a PDF grant image attachment. This service can be called at any time after the grant application has been downloaded from Grants.gov by NIH.

  1. System-to-System Trading Partner submits an electronic grant application system to system to Grants.gov.
  2. NIH pulls and processes the grant application
  3. System-to-System Trading Partner submits a Validation Request Message to the eRA Exchange.
  4. The eRA Exchange does a basic validation of the request. If successful, the eRA Exchange sends a synchronous validation response message. If it fails, the reasons for failure are returned.
