Background/Charge

The Continuing Medical Education Committee is composed of a representative group of physicians, administrators, and scientists from the ICs. It oversees continuing medical education activity for the NIH/FAES. The NIH/FAES program receives its accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine Office of Continuing Medical Education. Responsibilities of the committee include

• To review course offerings, including conferences, series, and enduring materials, at the request of the JHU Office of Continuing Medical Education
  
• To conduct annual reviews of the mission statement and a needs assessment to evaluate the overall effectiveness of the NIH's CME program
  
• To advise on structural and operational aspects of the JHU/NIH's CME program
