S. 1589—Appropriations for the Departments of Transportation and Treasury, 2004

September 8, 2003, Senator Richard Shelby (R-AL) introduced S. 1589, a bill making appropriations for the Departments of Transportation and Treasury, the Executive Office of the President, and certain independent agencies for the Fiscal Year ending September 30, 2004. This legislation contains general provisions that apply to all Federal Government agencies, including a 4.1 percent cost of living increase for Federal employees, and would require each agency to report on competitive sourcing activities. S. 1589 was referred to Committee on Appropriations.  (For similar House legislation, refer to H.R. 2989)
