Kimberly Gray, PhDDr. Gray received her PhD in epidemiology in from the University of Pittsburgh. During her graduate training, Dr. Gray worked on the Women’s Health Initiative and Cardiovascular Health Study. She went on to complete a postdoctoral fellowship in the Epidemiology Branch of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) with Dr. Matthew Longnecker. There, she examined the long-term effects of polychlorinated biphenyl exposure during pregnancy and childhood development using the specimens and data collected from the Collaborative Perinatal Project. In March 2000, she joined the research faculty of the Epidemiology Research and Information Center at the Durham Veteran’s Administration and was the Co-Principal Investigator of the VA/DOD joint-funded project, the Occurrence of ALS among Gulf War Veterans. After its completion in late 2001, she transferred to NIEHS as a Scientific Program Administrator for the Susceptibility and Population Health Branch. Dr. Gray currently directs the NIEHS and EPA Children’s Environmental Health and Disease Research Centers, and the Community-Based Participatory Research Program. She also serves as the NIEHS coordinator for certificates of confidentiality.
