The Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), has an active and wide-ranging research portfolio in women's health. Research projects that focus on women's health issues are conducted and supported by the Institute's various Centers, Divisions, and Branches.

This site brings together a variety of information about women's health topics, and about ongoing research projects funded by and carried out by the NICHD that are related to these topics.

The site provides information on funding mechanisms and processes for pursuing research on women's health topics. It also offers access to NICHD news releases, publications, conference and event schedules, and other information related to women's health.

Additional Resources

No single Web site can offer all the answers to questions related to women's health. The NICHD produces publications that summarize current knowledge and NICHD research findings on many topics related to women's health, but not on all topics.

If you're looking for general information on a women's health topic, such as the healthy stages of pregnancy, these Additional Resources might provide the information you need.

The broad topic of women's health includes not only the gynecological and reproductive issues addressed by much of the NICHD's research, but also topics such as heart health and bone health, that the Institute doesn't address. Through its many Institutes, the NIH offers information on a large scope of women's health topics.
