H.R. 4610—Arthritis Prevention, Control, and Cure Act of 2004

On June 17, 2004, Representative Charles Pickering (R-MS) introduced H.R. 4610, the Arthritis Prevention, Control, and Cure Act of 2004. Provisions relevant to NIH include mandates to establish the Arthritis and Rheumatic Diseases Interagency Coordinating Committee, to expand and intensify programs on juvenile arthritis, and to award planning grants or contracts on juvenile arthritis. H.R. 4610 was referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. The companion measure, S. 2338, was introduced by Senator Christopher Bond (R-MO) on April 22.
