    The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) established the Weight-control Information Network (WIN) in 1994 to provide the general public, health professionals, the media, and Congress with up-to-date, science-based information on obesity, weight control, physical activity, and related nutritional issues.

    New Look and Location

    In October 2004, WIN redesigned its web presence with the goal of making information regarding weight loss and control easier to find and navigate through.

    Note: The website address has changed to http://win.niddk.nih.gov. Please update any bookmarks and website links. Comments concerning the redesigned web site are encouraged and can be sent to win@info.niddk.nih.gov.
