H.R. 2410—Better Screening Test for Women Act

On May 21, 2007, Representative Nita Lowey (D-NY), introduced H.R. 2410, the Better Screening Test for Women Act.  The bill would amend Title IV the PHS Act to authorize $55 million for each of the fiscal years 2008 – 2012 for clinical research and related activities at NCI concerning early detection and screening methods of breast cancer and $5 million for each of the fiscal years 2008 through 2012 to conduct and support research and data collection regarding the link between early detection of breast cancer and reduction of mortality rates attributed to breast cancer.  The bill was referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.
