S. 451—The Pet Safety and Protection Act of 2005

On February 17, Senator Daniel Akaka (D-HI) introduced S. 451, the Pet Safety and Protection Act of 2005. The bill would require class B dealers that supply animals to research facilities to be registered with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. S. 451 was referred to the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry.
