S. 1930—The Inflammatory Bowel Disease Research Act

On October 27, 2005, Senators Harry Reid (D-NV) and Thad Cochran (R-MS) introduced S. 1930, the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Research Act. S. 1930 would require the Director of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases to expand inflammatory bowel disease research at NIH. S. 1930 was referred to the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions. The companion bill, H.R. 3616, was introduced on July 29 by Representative Sue Myrick (R-NY).
