H.R. 290—Inflammatory Bowel Disease Act

On January 8, 2003, Representative Sue Kelly (R-NY) introduced H.R. 290, the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Act. The bill would require the Director of NIDDK to expand and intensify the Institute's research on inflammatory bowel disease. It also directs CDC to establish a national program of prevention and epidemiology to determine the prevalence of inflammatory bowel disease in the United States. H.R. 290 was referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.
