Education, Affiliations, and Memberships

PhD, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 1993

PhD. program in Physics/Biophysics. Primary interest is in the application of NMR in biological system. Plus computer modeling of complex biological systems to understand their dynamic properties.

MS, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 1988

Master of science program in physics. Concentrated on applied and theoretical solid-state physics. Research experience includes solid state NMR to measure relaxation of membrane bilayers to understand its dynamic properties in a liquid crystal phase, and monte carlo simulation of single chain lipids in a monolayer to model the order parameter of the system.

BS, University of Bridgeport, Bridgeport, Connecticut, 1986

Bachelor of science program in physics, with minors in mathematics and computer engineering. Extensive course work in physics and modern mathematics including linear algebra, modern algebra and group theory. Research experience in building a photon pumped Dye-laser and extensive logic circuit design involving 8080/8088 intel microprocessor.
