Fellowships and Positions – Visiting Fellowships
The NIH Postdoctoral Visiting Fellowship provides training experience for foreign postdoctoral CCR/NCI scientists in basic, clinical, or behavioral research aimed at preventing, diagnosing, or treating cancer.
Who can apply?
Visiting fellows must have:
- A doctoral degree or the equivalent in the health sciences, and
- No more than 5 years of relevant postdoctoral research experience at the start of the fellowship period.
- A valid visa: NIH is authorized to offer J1 visas. For information, go to the International Services Branch.
Terms
Visiting fellow awards are generally made for 2 years, but 1-year awards are an option. Fellowships are renewable for up to 5 years, based on merit.
