NCI announces a course for postdoctoral fellows:
Cancer Biotechnology (CB).

Overview:
Recent biotechnology advances have facilitated the need to educate NIH  fellows in new methodology.  The Cancer Biotechnology (CB) course will be held at the NCI Frederick and contain a lecture component offered April 5, 19 and May 3, 2007 in Bldg. 549.  Also, there will be a laboratory component on May 10, May 17 and May 24, 2007.  The topics covered include: protein chemistry, protein expression, proteomics, drug discovery, genomics and bioinformatics.  The participation of NIH postdoctoral fellows who want to learn about new biotechnology advances is encouraged.

Links and Related Training Opportunities.
This course is part of a developing curriculum for training of NCI clinical and postdoctoral fellows.  Each Fall, a course in “Translational Research in Clinical Oncology” (TRACO) and “Redox Biology” is offered primarily for NIH postdoctoral fellows.  In February, a 2-day course is offered on the “Statistical Analysis of Research Data” (SARD) hosted by Dr. T. Moody which is offered for NIH clinical and postdoctoral fellows.  Also “Demystifying Medicine for PhDs” has 2 hours of lecture each week from January-May and the course is hosted by Dr. Irvin M. Arias (ariasi@mail.nih.gov).  For additional opportunities for postdoctoral training at NIH view http://www.training.nih.gov/.

Registration Form.
