Kuan Wang, Ph.D.

Dr. Wang is the chief of the Laboratory of Muscle Biology at National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases. He received his Ph.D. degree in Molecular Biochemistry and Biophysics and was professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Texas at Austin before arriving at the NIH in 1997. His group currently focuses on the nanomechanics of contractile proteins and the application of proteomics, nanotechnology and a broad range of interdisciplinary approaches in understanding how cardiac and skeletal muscles generate force and respond to stress.
