Guide to Labor and Delivery-in Tagalog

Abstract:

This brochure provides expectant parents who are Tagalog speaking with basic information on labor and delivery. It divides discussion of the process into five stages: start of labor (irregular contractions begin and the water bag breaks); first stage (entrance to the uterus begins to dilate and contractions occur closer together); transition stage (entrance to the uterus is fully open and contractions become very intense and close together); second stage (mother pushes the baby down the birth canal and the baby is born); and third stage (contractions continue to free the placenta from the uterus until it is expelled).
