AmiGO  I:

Non-Federal Website: AmiGO is the web interface for searching and browsing the Gene Ontology. The Gene Ontology (GO) project is a collaborative effort to address the need for consistent descriptions of gene products in different databases. The GO collaborators are developing three structured, controlled vocabularies (ontologies) that describe gene products in terms of their associated biological processes, cellular components and molecular functions in a species-independent manner. There are three separate aspects to this effort: first, we write and maintain the ontologies themselves; second, we make cross-links between the ontologies and the genes and gene products in the collaborating databases, and third, we develop tools that facilitate the creation, maintainence and use of ontologies. Genetics :
An Introduction to the Analysis of Spin-Spin Splitting in High-Resolution Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectra  I:

Non-Federal Website: From the preface: "Although it may seem presumptuous to some readers for a synthetic organic chemist to write an introduction to the quantum mechanical formulation of nuclear spin states and transitions, I have pointed out elsewhere [J. Am. Chem. Soc., 82, 5767 (1960)] that I believe all chemists can use nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy with greater interest, skill, and understanding by having at least a rudimentary knowledge of the quantitative theory of spin-spin splitting. The purpose of this book is to show that the path to making practical calculations of spin-spin splittings is not really difficult. No prior knowledge of quantum mechanics or the mathematics thereof will be assumed." Chemistry :

Anatomy Lens  I:

Non-Federal Web site: Anatomy Lens is a search engine that helps scientists hone in on PubMed articles most relevant to their research. Users enter anatomy terms, MeSH terms, and biological processes as search keywords. Anatomy Lens uses ontologies as knowledge bases to improve the recall of a search. Through inferencing, it is able to determine that if a user is interested in the brain, the user is also interested in the hippocampus and not the spine. To improve precision, Anatomy Lens searches over annotations on articles added by experts instead of keywords. In the above example query, an article that centrally talks about the spine but also happens to mention the keyword "brain" will be returned by a standard text search but not by Anatomy Lens. In the spirit of the semantic web, the following multiple data sets and ontologies have been integrated: Foundational Model of Anatomy (FMA), Gene Ontology (GO), Gene Ontology Annotations (GOA), MeSH, and PubMed.
