JBI COnNECT: Clinical Online Network of Evidence for Care and Therapeutics, Available on Trial through the End of October

JBI COnNECT enables health care practitioners to search for, critically appraise, summarize, embed, utilize, and evaluate evidence-based information. It is a service of The Joanna Briggs Institute, whose mission is to "facilitate evidence based health care practice globally."

The NIH Library is sponsoring a trial of JBI COnNECT through the end of October and would like your feedback on this service.

Trial Access:

  1. Go to http://www.jbiconnect.org/.
  2. On the left side under "Access all information via:," click on "JBI COnNECT."
  3. Under "Click here to enter JBI COnNECT now!," click on "JBI COnNECT."
  4. Type nihltrial as the Username.
  5. Type nihltrial as the Password.

Features of JBI COnNECT

  • Search for evidence from nine sources: The Cochrane Library, JBI Database of Systematic Reviews, JBI Database of Evidence Summaries, Bandolier, The Centre for Reviews and Dissemination through the Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects (DARE), Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), JBI Online Journal Collection, PubMed®, and the Free Medical Journals website.
  • Learn critical appraisal techniques with JBI RAPid (Rapid Appraisal Protocol internet database).
  • Access summarized evidence published in Best Practice Information Sheets, Evidence Summaries, and Evidence-Based Care Bundles.
  • Embed evidence into organizational systems with the JBI Online Evidence-Based Manual Builder.
  • Utilize appraised evidence through the JBI Practical Application to Clinical Evidence System (PACES) and JBI Patient Outcomes On Line (POOL).
  • Evaluate the organizational impact of evidence with PACES, POOL, and other tools.

Summarized Evidence Available and in Development

  • Available: Aged Care, Acute Care, Occupational Therapy, and Physiotherapy.
  • In Development: Cancer Care and Midwifery Care.
