CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

EndNote: Managing Your Search Results
Use EndNote® to import and organize references, insert references in manuscripts, and create bibliographies.

EndNote Web: Using EndNote from Anywhere
Access EndNote® Web, a reference management service with many of the features of EndNote®, from any computer with an Internet connection. EndNote Web is available to NIH staff through the NIH Library's subscription to the Web of Science® database.

Measuring Outcomes: Patient Reported Quality of Life and Functional Status Instruments
Locate appropriate instruments for measuring patient reported outcomes using ProQolid (Patient Reported Outcome and Quality of Life Instruments Database), Patient Reported Outcomes Measurement, American Thoracic Society Quality of Life Resource, PROMIS (Patient Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System), Health and Psychosocial Instruments, and CINAHL® Plus.

PubMed: Understanding the Basics
Use PubMed® to access the biomedical literature indexed in the MEDLINE® database. Search by topic, author, and journal; apply language, age, and publication type limits; and identify search terms in MeSH®, the Medical Subject Headings® Database.

Reference Manager: Managing Your Search Results
Import and organize references, insert references in manuscripts, and create bibliographies. Similar to the EndNote® session but for Reference Manager® users.

Scopus: Identifying Who's Citing Whom
Search by topic, store search requests, create email alerts, and identify which authors are being cited. Scopus™ is an interdisciplinary database that indexes thousands of journals in the social sciences, psychology, business, management, the physical sciences, engineering, the earth and environmental sciences, and the life and health sciences.

Web of Science: Mining the Literature
Conduct cited reference searches and search by subject, author, and journal title in Science Citation Index Expanded™ and Social Sciences Citation Index®.

Web Search: Thinking Beyond Google
Go beyond the standard web search tools and learn to search more efficiently; access the invisible web; evaluate websites; use image and non-text search engines; search for scholarly information, news, people, and blogs; and create your own custom search engine.
