Abstract: (CIT): Since 1993, the ORWH has sponsored a seminar series which brings to the NIH campus in Bethesda, Maryland, leading researchers, health care providers, women's health advocates, and others with expertise in women's health to discuss a wide array of issues. Seminars have focused on such topics as: genetic testing and women; autoimmune diseases; physical fitness for women; women and smoking; risks and benefits of hormone replacement therapy; mood disorders in women; Alzheimer's Disease and caregiving for the elderly; arthritis and osteoporosis; and breast cancer. Held four times each year, the seminars provide a forum for researchers and others to discuss state-of-the-art research and its potential to achieve the ORWH's ultimate goal of improving the health of women of all racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
