The road can be long and challenging between initial discovery on the laboratory bench and actual application in health care. Often teaming with other NIH Institutes, NIBIB provides added grant support that helps assure the consistent, longer-term momentum needed to fully develop technologies for delivery at the patient's hospital bedside, in the doctor’s office, at home, or wherever care is needed.
