Mark Your Calendars: National Latino AIDS Awareness Day Is Coming

October 15, 2007, marks the fifth annual National Latino AIDS Awareness Day (NLAAD). "Wake Up! Take Control! Take the HIV Test!" is this year's theme, which emphasizes the importance of HIV testing, prevention, education, and raising HIV/AIDS awareness in the Latino community.


NCI Announces Symposium on HIV/AIDS and AIDS-Related Cancers

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) announced this week that it will host an HIV/AIDS symposium on November 1 and 2, 2007, at the NIH campus in Bethesda, Maryland. The symposium will highlight accomplishments in HIV/AIDS research made by NCI scientists as well as introduce the new Center of Excellence for HIV/AIDS and Cancer Virology. Discussions will focus on new methods in HIV/AIDS research and the effects of AIDS and AIDS-related cancers.
