Abstract: (CIT): Dr. Rao's laboratory is interested in signaling mechanisms of neuronal polarization, axon guidance and neuronal migration. Dr. Rao received his Ph.D. in neuroscience from the University of California San Francisco in 1991. He did postdoctoral research at Harvard. He was on the faculty of Washington University School of Medicine from 1994-2004 and moved to Northwestern in 2004, where he is now Professor of Neurology. The NIH Neuroscience Seminar Series features lectures and discussions with leading neuroscientists. Sponsored by NINDS, NIMH, NIDCD, NIDA, NICHD, NEI, NIAAA and NIDCR, this year's series offers advances that span the areas of molecular, cellular and developmental neuroscience as well as cognitive sciences and neuroscience related topics in pain and other diseases.
