PureEdge Application Viewer for Non-Windows Users

Citrix Server Available for Non-Windows Users.

As a part of our ongoing commitment to releasing new features and site enhancements, Grants.gov is proud to partner with NIH (National Institutes of Health) to launch Citrix server availability for all users.

Beginning December 20, 2005, non-Windows users will be able to download and complete the PureEdge forms by taking advantage of the free Citrix server. Non-Windows users are also able to submit completed grant applications via the Citrix environment. Instructions are provided below on how to use the Citrix server functionality.

Please note: A limited amount of users may access the Citrix Server at one time. Grants.gov strongly encourages you to save your application often and also log off when you are not working on your application package in order to maximize the use of this server. Please be aware that you should wait until you are close to completing your application package before you attach any documents to keep the size of your file as small possible. Lastly, the best time to work and submit your application on the Citrix Server is during the off-peak hours, which are between the hours of 10:00 PM and 10:00 AM EST.

Macintosh System Requirements:

  • OS X Version 10.1, 10.2, 10.3, or 10.4.
  • 128 MB of RAM

Convert Documents to PDF

When completing a grant application package, you may find that some grant-making agencies recommend that applicants submit attachments to Grants.gov as a PDF. Using PDF allows you to preserve the formatting of your document.

How can you convert your documents to portable document format?

PDF generator software is available to help you save your documents as PDFs. There are several programs available for both PCs and Macs, along with websites that will perform the conversion for you.

Please note: When naming your file, please do not use special characters or spaces in the file names. It has been found that files that do have special characters or spaces in the title are not recognized as .pdfs by some systems.

The list below contains some of the PDF generators on the market, many of which are free or very low-cost. Grants.gov does not endorse any particular software.

Note: Please consult vendor websites for additional information. The websites are listed in alphabetical order and the vendor descriptions were accurate as of July 2004.
