Online Journals
The Online Journal search tries to locate journals that have an exact match for the Word or Phrase entered. If that fails, it then tries to locate journals, which contain any words in your search query. In addition, there are several ways to search the Online Journal titles.

Word search
Specifies a match for an exact word (one or more characters without spaces or punctuation)

Examples: Science
                  ScienceDirect
                  Scientific American
                 

Phrase search
Is one or more words with spaces between each word (one or more consecutive words separated by spaces).

Example: Journal of Biomedical Science

Wildcard search
Specifies a match of words or phrases beginning with the specified text. Enclose a prefix term in double quotation marks ("") and add an asterisk (*) before the ending quotation mark, so that all text starting with the simple term specified before the asterisk is matched.

Examples: "scien* "
                  "Acta Neuro*"

Boolean search
You can use the following Boolean operators in your search: AND, OR.

Examples: Science AND Biology
                  Science OR Biology
                  Science OR "Bio*"

Proximity search
Specifies a match of words or phrases that must be close to one another. Proximity search operates similarly to the AND operator: both require that more than one word or phrase exist in the column being searched. As the words in a proximity search appear closer together, the better the match.

Examples: Science NEAR Biology
                  Science NEAR "Bio*"
