Description:

Position available immediately to study the role of CA2+ signaling in embryonic neural stem cells proliferation and differentiation (J.Neurosci. 23, 240-251, 2004). A collaborative investigation focused on the roles of transient receptor potential channels in Ca2+ signaling has been established with the laboratory of Dr. Indu Ambudkar, Secretory Physiology Section, NIDCR. A multidisciplinary strategy is being used in this collaboration, which includes biochemical, molecular and genetic techniques as well as functional studies involving electrophysiology and microfluorometry. Candidates much have considerable experience in various molecular biology techniques and familiarity with computer based applications for gene and protein analysis. Experience in electrophysiology and cellular imaging is highly desirable. Candidates must have a Ph.D. and more than three years of experience.
