Richard A. Bailen, Senior Program AnalystRichard A. Bailen, MBA, MHA, joined the Office of Dietary Supplements (ODS) in October 2004 as a Senior Program Analyst. His primary responsibility will be the development and implementation of a new portfolio management database, tentatively called the Grants Efficiency Management System (GEMS). Additionally, Richard will conduct a full range of analysis and evaluation responsibilities with which the ODS is charged and/or congressionally mandated, advise Senior staff regarding major issues regarding relational database programs on dietary supplements, and serve as a Project Officer on contract-supported programs.
Before joining ODS, Mr. Bailen worked as a Program Analyst at the National Cancer Institute where he coordinated all administrative and I/T aspects of the extramural grants process between the Division of Cancer Treatment & Diagnosis OD and its Program Directors. He has Master degrees in Business and Health Administration from Arizona State University and a Bachelor degree in Business from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
